Scouting - feasibility studies

The first goal of a data validation and reconciliation solution is to provide error free, reliable information. In order to implement such a solution, it is important to first analyze the quality and the redundancy level of the existing instrumentation. The result of this analysis can then be used to optimally design the solution and the data validation and reconciliation model used for the application. Recommendations can also be made for relocation of existing sensors or acquisition of additional sensors, if needed. Typical steps in a scouting - feasibility study are:

  • Review the objectives of the intended solution
  • Analyze the existing situation
  • Analyze the needs
  • Perform a gap analysis between the existing situation and the needs
  • Design the solution to meet the needs
  • Define the scope of work to achieve the solution
  • Evaluate the expected benefits of implementing such a solution
